That looks just like the santee cooper rig I use. I do make my own snaggless weight like you do.

me as well....but i like no-roll sinkers. a little bumpy sometimes but hold the drift line tight and don't hang up much. I think it is a personal preference thing!

I have some of the Team Catfish snagless but for some reason the santee rig works better for me with a no roll sinker.

One tip on making your own string weights.
Tie on your swivel first, add weights on string, run line thru last weight 3-4 times, squeeze last weight with pliers. This will let you make a tight set of semi-snagfree weights pretty cheap.
Use the cheap brass snap swivels not the locking ones.

Here's a website for you to shorten your learning curve on fishing for kittys. It has information on all kinds of questions and also shows different ways of rigging baits. Personally I prefer the Santee Cooper rig for drifting with a snaggless 2oz weight. Hope this is helpful. thumb
