Is the lake dead and gone? Nobody ever posts about it. Did the golden algea wipe it out ?

Hope there is bait and fish there. I am taking 4 to 5 guys there on Saturday, weather permitting.I haven't fished there in about 6 years. Good thing is that it is for fun and not money, so it will be fun !

Since we have a lake house @ Whitney,we fish there almost every weekend.I am seeing fish all over the lake , on the fish finder, but they just stopped biting about 2 weeks ago. I have tried every thing. As to the shad, and the birds,no were to be found

This is probably not worth asking, but does anyone know why the BRA is allowing the lake level in Whitney to drop around a foot each week?

Code:
 Whitney Lake Levels
Date Diff from	Change (ft)	Change (in)
		Normal From prev From Prev
----------	--------------	-----------	------------
10/13/2010	-2.47 n/a n/a
10/20/2010	-3.25 0.78 9.36
10/27/2010	-4.04 0.79 9.48
11/03/2010	-5.33 1.29 15.48
11/10/2010	-6.51 1.18 14.16

Total Drop 4.04 48.48

I think I know one reason. The genarator in the PK dam is no longer operational. Lake Whitney is owned by the Corps of enginers and PK and Granbury are run by the BRA. The BRA has no reason to release water from PK unless its above pool, they are expecting lots of water from the water shed,or Granbury is low. If any one is purchasing water from the Corps either by pumping or dam release the water is not being replaced by the BRA.Therfore Lake Whitney will go down.

The Corps have all ways stated that the water is there property. It can be as low or as high as they want it to be. I once fished Whitney when the water was over 20' high. We put in in a dip in the road by Harbor Master. Rusty, one of the Harbor master owners, had to remove the "No wake" sign and nail it to the side of his moble home.

Randy nailed it. They are not letting water out of PK.Better get used to Whitney being low,as when ever they pump water to Aquila de salt station,so they can send it to Cleburne, it will always be low. They will flat out tell us,that they could care less about fishing, marinas, ect., It ia all about selling water

Hmmm. I guess the investment that TPWD makes in stocking whitney doesn't matter.

Thanks for the input guys.
