I have been around Bob Fincher and Big Marv all of my life and I know the friendship and relationship they had and I know the bait personally more than the most of you but I in fact the man that makes the bait as a close and personal friend. I have fished this bait on any lake in San Antonio,Three Rivers,Coleto Creek,and the San Antonio river .This is the best bait I've ever used!!!

welcome to the forum catfish son. I thought about trying that big marv bait i just dont fish for catfish enough to buy that much bait.

I can see you wanting to be cautious about buying from someone you don't know, but to call someone a fraud because of it or because he uses the name of the bait him and his friend used to make back in the days...seems kinda harsh. Some make it sound like he's trying to expliot his friends name or something...if its the same bait made the same way and if he "had permission" to make it then why not give this guy a chance...especially if there are guys out there that vouch for him or his relationship with his old friend? Just my opinion.

I think some of you are mixed up. BIG MARVIN (alias I am sure) is not saying BIG MARV is a fraud because he is selling bait made from Bob's recipe. He is saying it because there is a bait called CATFISH KILLER CHEESE BAIT, and BIG MARV accidently took the board name CATFISH KILLER, so BIG MARVIN is stirred up because of someone is using CATFISH KILLER in trying to sell bait.
I explained to BIG MARV on the phone that he should change his board name because people will associate him with the maker of CATFISH KILLER CHEESE BAIT, while that bait does catch fish too, one thing he does not want the public to think is that he is associated with anything that has CATFISH KILLER might be involved with.

You are correct Obiewan, the Catfish Killer has is own web site and guides on Lake Conroe; and has his own bait that he makes. I fished with Marvin several years ago on calaveras when Marvin was guiding and I think Bob was still alive. Bob's bait was very good and I bought and used it until Betty lost the business beacuse of the fire. A gentleman and his wife from the valley bought the business but did not have any luck. Betty told me that Marvin was going to start making it again. tsteve

I don't care what board name you use. I'm still wondering if you remember me calling you a few weeks ago? Mike from Kerrville, Catfish Addiction, Michael? I think you also know a good friend of mine, David Crews? Plus I don't think Catfish Killer from Conroe spells his name with all Caps....

We are not calling our bait catfish killer. He accidently logged on as this name because he actually can kill them. We take very much pride in our bait as any one would.David Crews is a good friend of all of ours and one of the most premier guides at Choke Canyon. He knows that we will do our best to catch fish for him. Just like Bob used to say "there are two types of baits in the world. (1 catches fisherman) (2 catches fish ) and I am proud to be the latter.

I know he used that name because the bait kills the fish, but so does the other guy. If I were going to pick a name to use ont he board, I would call myself
CATFISH BAIT MAN....I will be using Big Marvs bait fishing this week.

Thanks Obiewan57 we will also be fishing tomorrow night at braunig lake. Big Marv and a very good friend of ours caught 41 that averaged about 3-4 pounds. Some weighed up to 5 pounds.

BIG MARVS BAIT IS NO FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE CAUGHT FISH ON THIS BAIT WHEN NOTHING ELSE WOULD WORK.IT IS THE SAME BAIT THAT USED TO BE CALLED BOBS.

On the risque side, he could login as the Catfish Master Baiter. :p

Seriously I used Bob's Cheese bait on Calaveras back in the day, and was saddened to hear it was no longer being made. I switched to Danny Kings, but the old Bob's Cheese Bait was still #1 as far as I was concerned.
