Hit Cali again for some bank fishing. Brought Rubes and Neophyte with me. Bite started slow, but picked up in spurts. Ended up with 30 in the cooler. All caught on marvs, on bottom cast out as far as we could. had to downsize to #8 Trebles as well since they were biting very light/short.

Are you all talking about caliveras lake? How is the Red fishing there (or is that Braunig)? Used to fish there about 15 years ago.

Are you all talking about caliveras lake? How is the Red fishing there (or is that Braunig)? Used to fish there about 15 years ago. yep, calaveras, yep it has red fish, one of the better catfish lakes in Texas!

Getting ready to turn it up for cats, but for reds, it will get a little harder until spring. And both Calaveras and Braunig have reds.

Way to go fellas!! Heckuva haul especially from the bank. Y'all are REALLY making things hard on me lol. I aint been fishin in over 6 months (1-trip to the coast but didn't fish much). I NEED to get my boat out there soon make sure she still floats!!!

Thanks for replies. Funny, I never fished that lake for catfish. Wish I would've known better. We used to kill the hybrids (i think they were hybrids) on chicken liver in front of hot water discharge back in the day. I think they had Corvina there too. BTW, that's a nice mess of fish you got there.
