I've never used Braid and I want to give it a shot. What LB test do you guys use for flipping and pitching. Also what brand is the best in your eye's? Does braid sink, or float like mono?
Thanks for the tips fella's

I'm using pline spectra braid....never had an issue with it, wears well and is very stout. Most tests have shown power pro to be the best, but I've never tried it. Have tried a few others, and have never had a reason to switch from pline spectra. 50lb test is great for me, others will tell you 65. If I need 65lb braid to winch a fish out, I shoulda been quicker on the hookset IMHO

Here is another dumb question... Is braid pretty sensitive? Can you feel every tick, or do you really have to be paying attention and watching your line?
Thanks again.

You can tie the braid directly to your bait, right? You don't have to have a leader, correct?

Braid floats and is the most sensetive. Many like heavy (25 lb)flourocarbon because it sinks but carefull attention to detail with the knots is a must and it is very stiff when compared to braid requiring use of line conditioner to make it as manageable as possible. The two times I have tried Power Pro I have broke it with in the first 30 min of use on a fresh spool but it does hold its color well from what I understand it does have huge following just not by me. Suffix performance braid is my preference and I use it in 20-80 lb test depending conditions. In North Texas where you are a braid 40-50 lb test will cover a good variety of conditions without being the size of a rope and use palomar knots with braid.
