Found a Sierra unit at the local Tracker dealer for 34.00 barb fittings to fit Merc hose were 3.00 each. I also installed a ball valve before the filter so I could shut the fuel off when I change the filter. I think BPS has one similar for about 25.00 and I recently saw the Sierra kit at Academy for about 26.00. The filter looks like an oil filter so you can't see the water build up I just change it out a couple time a year.

any fuel/water seperator will help, change those spin on filters before there all rusted up, the metal case can't take alot of exposer, I would recomend a racore with a see thru bowl, it has a pitcock on bottom to drain off unwanted water and a filter to trap dirt and grime before it hits the motor, another top of the line filter is a Unikas Commercial grade filter now they are MFG units for pleasure craft, we stock them and are around $99.00 all UV plastic and brass hose barbs come with the unit the replacement filters are $18.50 email me if you want to know more

The Yamaha is one of the best water separators made. They are a little higher in price but you get what you pay for install cheap get cheap results.
