Been out a few times this month and have managed good numbers of channel cats using shad in shallow water,but not one redfish.I know the wall is the best chance for a redfish encounter but wanting to hear of any succesful driftfishing being done this time of year.

Not on calaveras, but we did some drift fishing at Braunig last week, drifted from the intake back towards the jetty for about 20-25 minutes, and dad caught a 9lb red on a pearch, but we had to get my uncle back home, so we left.

Saul..funny I was wondering the same thing. I might be heading out there later this week and try for some reds. Is the spwan on out there right now? I figured it might be..thanks

There getting close cliff, been catching lot's of cat's full of eggs.Want my dad to catch his first redfish while out with me.We might try friday night if the weather allows it.Had to move way back past the bridge this last time under what few birds are left.Rip raps weren't producing at night.The only redfish i've caught out off cali was a barely legal one caught while drifting infront of the second cove using strawberry kool-aid marinaided shad.
