Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you abilene guys are catching anything right now, and where at? I have been to Kirby, and it is getting pretty low, with the 3 golf courses pumping out of it... I mainly fish Phantom and Kirby with liver/frozen shad, but have not had any luck lately... Where are they and what are they biting?

Thanks
Jason

Hi Jason and Welcome to the Forum !
I haven't been fishing much lately and not at Kirby of Phantom at all in several months. I will though pass on any info I hear about anyone catching anything at either lake.

Head over to Lake Stamford. Yellow grasshoppers and a popping cork along the rocky banks where the wind is blowing into it, very early in the A.M. Helps if you can chum several spots. Let the grasshoppers stay near the top. Several call it "Slapping". Bite is good also in the Brazos, if you can obtain access. I have not heard of anyone doing this on Kirby or Phantom, but it might be worth investigating.
