Went out on a cold morning last saturday. Only 3 boats on the lake in the AM. Hit brush piles and grass. Caught 2 11" and 1 16" and 1 17" LMB. FInally.

Medina Lake was impounded in 1913 and is approx 40 miles NW of San Antonio, clear body of water with a depth of around 150 ft., aquatic vegetation is sparse. The largemouth lake record still stands today a 13lber caught in 1943, and the smallmouth record 6+ in 1993. The last stocking was in 2005. My brother and I have caught several nice bass over the years. When we were growing up this lake was practically in our backyard. My picture is from this year and his from last year in a local tournament.

I've never fished Medina, but have been thinking about giving it a try. is it as clear as Canyon Lake? Where's the best place to launch coming from San Anton?
