Anyone know where I can legally dig up a few cattails for transplanting to my yard? Preferably in the Little Elm or North Lake Lewisville area?

I don't know if it is legal i would think (but don't know) that if you get them from private property vs public that you may be ok However i do know that they do very well when transplanted and grow like wild fire I have a buddy that did some and he has to keep them thinned out.

doesn't help you but I thought it interesting, I stopped at a restaurant in Houston the other day and they had Cattails planted in a flower bed with mulch around the bottoms and they looked really good. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

if nothing else you can grab a few seed pods (I've heard people refer to them as corndogs) and spread them around the banks, some of them are sure to get started.

I did latch onto some seed pods. Just thought it would be easier to transplant a few plants, especially if I can dig up the root runners.
