I will be staying at Sheppard Annex on 9/24 and my father-in-law is wanting some catfish. So I was thinking of setting some jugs out. I was thinking of just trying in the cove were the marina is. Has anyone ever had luck in there. I know they catch some good fish in there in the winter, I have seen them. But they are pretty tight lipped about were they got them. Got to get points with the father-in-law when I can.
Yes I did admit defeat. Good job back to back champion

I've had luck Jan.-March around that area. Particularly on the oklahoma bank just opposite of Sheppard and a little east. There is a little creek running into the lake and the point that comes out there has held good fish. Also might want to take a left out of Sheppard and try the flats on the texas side just out from the oil rigs. I've have never fished there this time of year though. Good Luck.

David, you shouldn't have any problems finding the kitties in that area this time of year.
There is a long point that runs from the big high point where you come out of Sheppard and turn west back toward Sliccum Slough....That point runs way out into the river heading east from that point. Get on the river side of it and you will find kitties.
The rocky shelf just as you come out of Sheppard and turn east....Excellent kitty water.
Up inside the two coves that make up Sheppard are good.
And, don't forget Sliccum Slough on west of Sheppard. Some real good kitty water.
Most of that big delta over toward the Okie shore is likely gonna be too shallow for jug fishing. Some of it is real good for night fishing this time of year if you chum it. But, I will recommend you fish the Texas shore between Sliccum and just east of Sheppard. Just my two cents.
