I am making up some Jug Line's and would like to know what anyone has found to be the best to use for the tag. Years ago I use to just put my name, phone #, and date on the jug itself but understand that I should have been doing a tag within 6" of the jug. Any information would help. Thanks, Rick

I use a brother label maker. That works great for me. I have some jugs that have had the same id labels on them for over a year now with no fading or peeling off. For the date, I just slap the lable over the top of the old one to keep from continually scratching out the date.

I made my own using the big swimming noodles with 1/2" PVC ran through the middle. I then drilled through both sides of the PVC and ran a bolt through it and attached a nut on the other side. I simply wrote my name on the PVC with a permanent marker.

Thank you for the replys. Bozo that was great, I had perfect plastic tags sitting here and a brother P-Touch that I did not even think about using. Tags are done, fishing time.....
Thank you, Rick

I wrap my orange fun noodles with white duct tape. Then I write my name etc. and date with a permanent Marks A Lot on the white duct tape. After 30 days, I scratch out the date and underneath it write the new date. By the time I use up all the space, I replace the noodle for a cost of about thirty cents.

I have taken a old detergent bottle and cut it up in squares. Then just tie it to the jug.

I use waterproof bandage tape write on them with a sharpie and stick them on my foam jugs. They haven't fallen off yet. I use one peice for my name and address and a second peice for the date. The date peice is long enough for several dates. I just scratch through the old date and add a new one. When there is no room left, I just put on a new peice of badage tape.

I set my jugs out with my name address , date etc. I go rod & reel fishing for about 2 -3 hrs, come back to my jugs, take any legal fish off & if I want to fish awhile longer, I re-bait & go, when I get ready to go home, I take my jugs up & go to the house, which is about 5 minutes from home. That way, I don't have to worry about some jacka$$ stealing my lines! Works good for me! :p :p
Keep your powder dry & don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!!

i write my info for jugs on the bottle, and for trotlines i cut suqares of white sheet metal and write my info on with a sharpie. gotta re-write it between trips usually. but they stay readable for a good week. also they sink. i don like to have markers above water for a line if i don't have to.

when I write on plastic I take some 220 grit sand paper and rough up on the spot and use a sharpie. I have also used the mail labels DU always sends me I stick a few of the to an index card take it to a teacher supply store and have them laminated. they last forever that way. to attach I use clear packing tape.
