Not that I'm a pro or anything near that, but this is what I learned when I asked..(Went today..caught nothing, except maybe a cold) It'd probably make sence if I told you the driving directions as I don't know east from west. This is what I was told, so take it for what it's worth, Once you enter the park, hang a right and follow it to the dirt road, go down that dirt road for a while. From what I was told, that's where they are. (I don't know the exact locale, but was told as far down as you can go?) I went out today (Oct 26) and that part of the lake was closed. I got some good bites on shad on that big wooden pier, but my hook bent, so who knows what it was. I might head out later this week. Hope this helps and lemme know if you find them!

hey, good to hear from somone fishin more local. Calaveras and braunig are my home lakes, i've been fishin them for a long time. i'm curious to see what areas of the lake you have been fishin in. Cut shad is generally a good bait, for bigger fish try takin fresh tilapia, on a smaller one (2-4 inches) cut off the head and tail and fish with the body part, on larger ones, just use the guts of the fish. i've had a lot of luck like this and have caught fish to 20lbs. also chicken liver and shrimp are good baits. i read the response you got from that other fella and it sounds like he's talkin about fishin on those rock points under the highline. lotta good fish back there but i catch most of mine off the crappie wall in the corners, the middle isn't as good, off the rocks around the dam, and back behind the old rail road bridge. also i don know if you've tried chumming them with sour milo, but that greatly improves your luck. thats what usually works for me. lemme know how you do.
