I generally use nightcrawlers or shad to fish with, but decided to try some doughbait this go round. It seems like it would work...if it'd stay on the hook! I tried just about everything, even useing the treble hooks with the spring on it, but it would break down once in the water and fall off. I didn't try the hooks with the "tubes" on them though. Would this be something to invest in?(I guess it could've been eaten off as well, but I varied the amounts used and got the same results.)Is there a trick to useing this stuff? I've heard of useing panty hose, but how do you utilize this? Also, I'm a lil' unclear on how to use punchbait. Are there pictures of it's application on the net or something? Does a hunk of it come off on the hook or what?

what you do first is you wet the dough bait and then mold it on the hook. If it is runny add some flour to the doughbait. How to use punchbait is a trick
You push it all the to the bottom and then you pull at an angle quickly and the access will come off as you cast it out. hope this helps.

good fishing

The doughbat goes on just fine, but breaks down in the water. It fits the hook just fine, but once it stays in the water (Maybe 10-15 min) it breaks down and falls off...or seems to.
As far as Punchbait....Will it come out like doughbait with a big glob or so, or will there just be a lil bit on the hook??? This is where I get messed up, as I haven't played with this yet. Does it just "coat" the hook or what? I've never seen this used, so forgive my ignorance. Does it come off the hook easily?? Is there a preferred brand and where do you get it??

The punch bait you just "punch" your treble hook down in the bait bucket with a stick, and the bait will stick on the hook. Yes it will be a big "glob" as you described.

Then after you push the hook in you just grab the line and pull it out at an angle and the bait sticks. You never have to touch it.

Go to www.catfishbait.net and you can get some punch bait there. This is the best I have ever used.

I hate to say it, but other than opening up my box (it stinks and the better half doesn't really approve of stinky thing in the apt) I think that it might just be Magic Bait. Is there a prefered product?
