Guys I've been testing the new Elite 5 DSI past few weeks. Check out this photo, this is bass above the structure. Caught several of those bass on swim baits. With DSI images like this, you won't need traditional 2D sonar anymore, at least in the conditions where DSI is best, it water depths less than 250 ft. Here's one of bass that was on the DSI screen and on the structure!!

Is that water temp 32 deg?? The transducer that I was testing with Elite 5 DSi didn't have temp sensor in it.

are the arches on the screen real arches (raw sonar data) or are these arches a result of having the FISH ID turned on. I understood that these units would have FISH ID from a top electronics writer I talked to about these units. It was my understanding that to create the image quality shots of structure you have to have a very narrow beam but very narrow beams don't arch fish. Can this unit to both and if so how?

Yes, that real time fish, not computer generated. No.. fish ID is off, I don't think fish id is option on the Elite DSI unit. I will have to look next time use it.
The key of getting fish show up like that, they have to be in apex of the cone angle and you or the fish have to be moving.

Jason, I currently use a 522C and was thinking of getting a Mark 5 DSI (only for the imaging) when they come out, can I run both units at the same time? I have a pontoon so both transducers would be at the rear of the same pontoon log about 3" apart.

Yes you can, but if was me I would save up little more and get the Elite 5 DSI. IMO it does a better job and picture.
