Taking a trip to Lake Travis at the end of the month. Where is a good place to launch? I am looking to fish a little and ski/tube a lot.

Thanks!

You should check with TPWD to see where launching is possible. We're in drought conditions here and 6 of the 10 boat ramps on Travis are out of the water.

Mansfield Dam may still be usable, but be VERY careful around there when at cruising speed because very shallow areas appear out of nowhere in that area of the lake.

Travis is one of the most dangerous lakes in Texas, so mucho cuidado.

I've never killed anyone, but I've read several obituaries with great enjoyment.

Wow! I guess I'll leave the boat at home and float the Guadalupe or Frio!

Current Colorado River Boat Ramp information:

Also there is Lake Austin, below Lake Travis. It is a constant level lake at 65 degrees. It will get crowded on weekends!
