We already have Saltwater, there seems to be more & more concerning trouts so why not have a section for those inclined to seek them. We could use the remaining forum for Bass, Sunfish & native species (even barfcarp).

Add Fresh & Cold water
single choice
Ya, give the Trouters their own place (36%, 20 Votes)
naw, leave it alone (64%, 35 Votes)

IMHO no. It would just be another dead forum for the most part. Look at the saltwater forum.....hardly anyone post in there.

Off topic
I would like to see a function of being able to rate each persons post.

I think during the winter months it might blow up pretty good, but I don't know of many places to catch them close year round. We go LMFR and CO for our trout during warmer months.

Common Sense has become so rare that it should be considered a super power

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

BB, I kinda know where you're coming from but come on: carp a native species? Sort of confuses the issue. What is it you're after? Nothing posted here about any coldwater species? If this is just to eliminate the trout talk, then put a trout forum off the main Freshwater section, like all the other fish have. Of course, I'd never check that out because it would probably be mostly bait or spin talk.

We might just as well have a pumpkin sculpture subforum.

Exactly. Aren't we already enough of a tiny-slivered minority?

Shouldn't our manner of fishing unite us more than our species-of-choice divide us?

Is it really that painful to look at (gorgeous) pictures of Idaho or Montana? Sure, we're in Texas, but we almost all certainly have wheels and maybe occasional access to wings. If business or pleasure takes us Wisconsin, Colorado, or Hawaii, we can PM the folks from those areas who are kind enough to post here and ask them to hook a brotha up.

What is it you're after?

Can some trout fishers be prickly or even poo heads? Sure, but haven't you encountered bass fishermen who are just as bad? (Ever try to fish around or in the midst of a bass tournament?)

Our tent's already small; I don't think we need to downsize it any more.

(Some of my sermon may have strayed, but I felt led . . . which is better than feeling lead.)

This!!!!!!

So, I propose we divide the fly tying forum even more like say, forum for trout dry flies, tied right between lunch and afternoon siesta in the 4th quarter of the year only.

Shhhh. I'm the prickly poo head. grin bolt
