tyff, If your trying for Blues, my belief is you missed the most efficient bait---"Sure Shot", remember I said "MY belief" In my efforts: loads of smaller Channels----Dip bait (Cheese based) after chumming Medium Channels----- DK's---a good bait Blues of all sizes---Sure Shot--In my efforts a Winner

Hey Hooker,
I use those baits for channel cats and I use shad for my blue catfishing. However you are right, blues will hit the punch baits.
I also watched a video where the guide was using chicken livers to cast under the comornat roosts...he used a float as well.....and amkes long casts.
Have you been out on LL for blue cats lately ?
I walked down and into the hickory creeka rm the other day, where all the trees are cut down adn the folks on the bank were have a little succes on the channel cats.

tyff, Gotta admit, Shads the absolute best natural bait for Blues.
Its been a couple of weeks now, having my boat upgraded, last time out got a 31 lb blue (On Sure Shot)
In my opion, when fishing under the birds, just about anything "Plopping" under the trees will produce a bite, I just plop and retrieve, never let it rest. (While the birds are sitting)
Think I'm going out this week-end with Cal (From Hickory Creek)

My two gallons of fillets that are getting ready to be put in the freezer say it works very well. That is okay. It leaves more of it for Jason and Kevin to buy. Well some people say it works some say it dont im one of those that says it doesnt work. Its way to thick for my likeing. My dad has been makeing the Bells Of Stinkbait longer than Ive been alive and thats really the only stinkbait Ill use. Ive met Danny King at a gathering on Texoma and I talk to Nathan King on another fourm really nice guys but personally I think their bait sucks. Heres the link to my dads site, if you go to the stink bait page it has his recipe there.... http://members.aol.com/jackfish7/
