Probably is illegal, why chance it, go find another spot, better yet go find your own spot,oh fishing at night has to be scandalous or could it be thats when one likes to fish. If you've ever fished LC you would know why the fishing is at night, yes there are signs, etc. But knowing LC and respecting it has its perks. This site sure has changed a lot in the past few years. Rudy and some the other Tff'ers that have been nice enough to help, direct, instruct and teach so many of US on this site seem to take a lot of criticism or be challenged by what one feels they know. A couple of you that have posted on this thread i've seen post on other threads with the same high and mighty demeanor. If you already feel you know the answer or are here for the wrong reasons, go get on Topix or another site where its cool to find fault or challenge anything and everything. If not then kick back and smile knowing what you feel you know and keep your opinion to yourself if its not positive or condusive to the topic at hand.

Was once ran off by DCURD(dallas community urban reclamation district) who is the lakes authority. Not Irving or Las Colinas. He asked me if I knew If I was fishing a private lake and then suggested some other near by waters to fish.

"its only illegal if you get caught." Is that what you teach your children? Listen, compared to burglery, assault, rape, etc. fishing like this is minor, akin to speeding in my book, but illegal is illegal. Since you're doing catch and release, I don't have any real beef with it. But don't go saying its only wrong if you get caught.

Did it ever occur to any of you that some of us might have actually asked permission, and gotten the ok, to fish some of the water out there?
I personally have talked to the hotel manager of one of the many hotels out there, and he gave me the ok to fish all the water fronting their property as much as i want,as long as i am keeping the place clean, and not disrupting any hotel activity.
I have asked security people, and received permission to fish water fronting what ever property fronted the water that they were responsible for.
I have talked to Irving police about other areas out there, and if they told me it was ok to fish it i fished it, if they said find another spot, i left without a beef.
I see nothing wrong with asking first, and if they say ok, proceeding.
Maybe SOME people on here jump to conclusions, interpreting only one side of the story?
As long as they tell me i can, i will, when they say i can't, I will stop or move on.
Rudy

On the night of the big cats, this is what we caught, including some LMB's as well: This channel was pushing 10 lbs! Caught on a pumpkinseed/chatreuse tube jig, 1/16th oz, UNPAINTED jig head, 6 lb test, ultralight gear! Pumpkinseed/chartreuse jig head in upperleft jaw/toothplate of the cat, UNPAINTED jig head clearly visible! Nice one in the 4-5 lb range that SaltWater Marc caught on a live nightcrawler: This one was between 7-8 lbs, caught by SaltWater Marc, also on a live worm! A 5, a 7, and a 10 lb Channel cat, all caught on the same night, within an hour of each other, between 10 and 11 PM! Rudy

Thanks for the info Guys!! I have`nt been on the forum for very long maybe a couple years but I value the info that i get here very much. There are some very very cool guys on this forum. Rudy and that Tarpon fly are my favorites. They are way cooler than the other side of the Pillow& a wealth of info.I have never met them personally but they are so unselfish to a fault.Let`s all remember guys it takes all kinds to make a world and everyone has an opinion so sometimes we have to agree to disagree.Don`t take it personal.Just keep YOUR line wet and a good hook set and let`s wear em out.

Do you guys think the fish from LC ponds are safe to eat ?
I live in LC but haven't had much luck fishing the ponds. Unless i use shrimp, but all i catch are small cats all the time.

Lovflx, is right about asking for permission first. Rudy I know you may not remember but you gave me a map of clues about five years ago on how to find that highly productive colvert. Since then I have fished while department of homeland security officers took smoke breaks right next to me. They have came to the glass door and waved. Thanks for being unselfish with the spots and info you have shared.

I have eaten channels as well as crappie out of LC and must say that they were both mighty tastier.
