I'd say a winter tourney on Town Lake in Austin.

I was thinking it could be a multiple day tourney? possibly a 3 day tourney at different months throughout winter. possibly a Dallas date. an Austin date. and a Houston date? what are your thoughts? all 3 of these locations have 40#+ sized carp. possibly a big fish pot as well? and maybe include buffalo?

where in dallas do they have 40s?maybe a wintertime atc.

Forget the 40s; all of the locations have 20s, possibly 30s, so thats enough.

I like the idea of three different dates, one in Dallas, Austin, and Houston.

I would say let the Dallas folk choose the Dallas venue, let the Austin folk choose the Austin venue, and let the Houston folk decide on the Houston venue.

Since its a tourney it doesn't really matter (to me, anyway) if one has a chance to catch a 40 or not, just that there is a good chance for the majority to catch some fish.

I kind of like the idea of including buffs as well; also how about grassers? We could also have a side pot for koi, catfish, or other?

how about if you catch a catfish you have to donate to a raffle or a charity or something since they're considered -1

Catfish can be a -1# each.

I think it's a great idea, letting the home town people choose the venue for their tourny. what dates would be best for everyone? nothing set in stone of coarse just ideas. as far as grassers and koi, we can take a vote on all the species. whatever the majority of people wanting to do this wants to include.

Since Koi are Carp, they already count. I like the Carp, Buff, "Other" setup.

well, we may be on to something. but I've never organized something like this, so who is wiling to help organize? we need to get some dates set and figure out what the pot will be.

ok then, lets do this! lets find out who's in and start setting dates. what should the pot be for people wanting to fish the tourny? to make this happen we need what? 10+ anglers for each venue? again I am not experienced setting thies things up. what % of the winnings should be used for what? what are we doing for 2nd and 3rd place winners? etc.

I was thinking white rock in the first few weeks of dec.For saturday and sunday from sunup to sundown.Maybe we could put up some kind of shelter to get out of the weather.what does the guys from n.tx think about this?? Maybe some of the guys from before all of us new guys showed up could come fish also.
