Anyone care to venture an opinion on what this is (see object inside the rectangle)? C.

I didn't record a sonar log. I also deleted the screen shot from the unit's memory after I downloaded it to the SD card.
That begs a question: Can I reload that image from the SD card to the unit, then call it back up for viewing?

copy the 'direct link' (second from the top) on photobucket, then click the picture icon at the top when posting and paste the link.

It's laying flat on the bottom,,,no shadow like the rock beside it.
Catch em, kiss em, let em go

Revoman - I don't think that shadow is from the rock/stump beside it --- the shadow is on the wrong side for that. In that lake, it is probably a stump rather than a rock. The only large rocks there are the dam rip-rap.
Looks to me like whatever it is, it is leaning on/against the stump and the shadow is from the object on the end not in contact with the stump.
Guess this is destined to be one of those Side Scan mystery objects!

Either a very large camera or a sherman tank on side.

Without knowing boat speed and chart speed, it is hard to know what we are looking at.
Imagine a round ball sitting on the bottom, It will make a very different image depending on the boat speed ( which dicates how long the object is in the beam). An image that looks like the actual object only happens when boat speed vs chart speed are ideal thru design or accident.
Having said that , I don't have a clue, it does not look like something that belongs on the bottom.
