Really dont think your going to get more than 75 out of it.

But the good thing is you will be running alot more efficient at 65-70 than you would be with a 250

I have a ZX225 right now and wouldn't mind getting a ZX250 with either a 250 or 300 becuase of the extra length.

Thats good to know the 300 is more fuel efficient. I would have thought it would drink more gas. Learn something new everyday.

I guess there's not much difference in the speed if I can run 70.

It will drink more gas at full throttle, but fortunatly cruising at 4500-5000 RPMs where the motors are most effieciently, you will be going faster with the bigger motor.

I see 77-78 out of mine pretty regularly with a 250

This is an efi yamaha on the newer style hull ('06). I think with a 300hpdi you should see about the same #'s

My dad has a 08 ZX250 with 300HPDI. 76.8 is the fastest i have got it up to. It will do 74 no problem with 2 people tourney loaded. If you go to yamaha's performance bulletins it will show you the fuel mileage. It gets about 1 mpg less than my ZX225 at most speeds.
