If you had a choice, what would you all want to see on a new fishing show? Please give me your opinions on shows already televised and what you like and what you would like to change/add. Thanks

I would want to see more diverse conditions. Muddy & clear; flat water & chop; lakes & rivers; summer & winter; bluebird skies & overcast. I like the way Angling Edge focuses on a subject and breaks it down. It's beneficial if you have no experience with that subject or if you're a seasoned vet. But I always tune in for Honey Hole for education and entertainment.

Similar to a "Day on the Lake", Lost Lake or Classic Patterns. I want to see how someone works through the current conditions and develops the pattern.
I don't care to watch an infomercial like "Fishing University" or some guy sitting out on a rock pile on Lake Erie with dropshot the whole show.
Give me something I can use either a new/secret tactic or how to deal with certain situations.

Don't get me wrong. I always like watching Zona, but the show has to be educational for me to really like it (like Day on the Lake or Classic Fishing Patterns). Now if you could figure out a way to both, teach me AND make me laugh you might really be onto something!

Now if you could figure out a way to both, teach me AND make me laugh you might really be onto something! Mercer is pretty goofy on Facts of Fishing ( http://www.factsoffishing.com/). I like it because he teaches and makes fun of himself a lot which is pretty funny. It always seems like I can relate to the situations he talks about. And his laugh is pretty crazy. Shows that are a lot of highlight reels are boring. I want to learn. The show should teach anglers the proper way to present certain baits, how to tie on things like C-rigs, drop shots, T-rigs, etc., and how to fish all weather conditions.

things I like to see:
instructional, year round bass fishing (A Day on the Lake, Scott Martin Challenge, Honey Hole All Outdoors)
The most likely reasons for watching televised fishing coverage are:
1) tournament coverage 2) see fish caught 3) learn how to catch more bass
I get what I need on 1 & 2 from watching BASS and FLW coverage. I would like to see year round, species specific (largemouth bass) targeted fishing with discussion on the current weather, current water conditions, lure selection, presentation, why I chose this area, why topwater, why a jig, why I put this down, seasonal patterns, etc. Actual useful instructional information.
Mark Perry's posts on TFF are far better than most of the carp on TV thinly disguised as fishing shows.
things I don't like to see:
infomercials (Roland Martin, Shaw Grigsby) private water (Bill Dance) saltwater (Byron Velvick, Southwest Outdoors Report) crappie, sandbass, catfish, stripers, bank fishing (Southwest Outdoors Report) out of Texas fishing (Southwest Outdoors Report) inaccessible/difficult to reach water (latest trend on Honey Hole All Outdoors) local tournament coverage (latest trend on Honey Hole All Outdoors) more talking than fishing (Mike Iaconelli, Mark Zona)

More Honey Hole Outdoors. That guy is awesome. He is down to earth, shows you exactly where they fished and he doesn't use the bait that he is getting sponsored by. He keeps it real and I like that. I can't stand when you see someone on there 50K boat with a bunch of "said name brand" all over the boat like that is all they use and then every commercial inbetween is that sponsor.
Thanks for keeping it real Honey Hole! Only fishing show I watch any more!

I have really learned alot from Classic Patterns. Those guys really take the time to explain how they find a pattern and what baits to throw and how to present them.

Absolutely RR, that guy is a stick. Check's in the mail brother. Thanks Putting me and stick in the same sentence I'd hop you would be referring to something I stuck in my eye.

Don't be hatin' just cause if you were on a show it would only be from your chest down since no lenses zoom that tall.
