Huge smallies. BB was 8.05-  Winning bag was 31.55- new Canadian record  BB is at the 1hr mark and BS was at the 1:07 hr. Took 27lb to get a top 10. http://www.aurorabass.com/

there was a 30 something pound smallie bag last year on some lake that is part of the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Quebec I think.
I've looked and can't find a link.

Well, the biggest issue in big Canadian smallies is the great habitat, clear water and protected non-fishing months.
It is quite frustrating to start fishing for bass in June and stop fishing in March (although it is still snowing in March, so no one is fishing for bass then anyway).
But hey, for the summer and fall, we have great fishing for bass, pike, walleye and musky.
