Got a time reference? The only flat thing is see is a Marc Petitjean Magic Clip.

also it looks like he is just using a brass pull knob with a eyelet scewed into it to spin the line..might have to make one of these

Marc Petitjean, a Swiss fly tier, calls that clip a Magic Tool. He sells it in several sizes. Here is a link to his website: http://www.petitjean.ch/eng/MagicTool/default.aspIt's a pretty nifty tool, and watching his videos is a treat in itself.

Got a time reference? The only flat thing is see is a Marc Petitjean Magic Clip. Looks just like an operating room drape holder upper. Now if I only had access to an operating room.

The other nifty trick in that video is that Marc Petitjean dubs by splitting the thread and inserting the clipped material between strands of the thread, the spinning it closed before wrapping on the dubbing.
And, yes, he does also happen to sell the particular thread that he splits, as well as the needle he used to split it with.
