Drifted Lavon today. It was slow until after noon when the wind picked up. Caught a 6 pounder, a 22, and a couple of smaller ones. Activity was far between, but I was happy with the size. I need to give Capt. Larry a shout out for showing me how to drift on Labor Day, but I still can't throw a cast net. In the last two weeks I have caught an 8, a 6, a 17 and a 22, all on big ol chunks of chicken breast with some Dead Red on them. I bought a buffalo at Fiesta and run two rods with chicken and two with buffalo. The chicken out fishes the buffalo. Thanks to Stinkbait Tom for mentioning the chicken a couple of weeks ago. I had not tried it before.

I have used chicken breasts rubbed with garlic salt and they work good. I'll def try the dead red on them

Just like Tom said. Boneless, skinless raw chicken breast split down the middle and cut into chunks the size of your choosing.

I just came from the store my wife wanted me to grill some chicken, and they didn't have any, the people in the store said a bunch of people pulling boats have been comming in and buying it all up!!!
Back when there was a lot of rabbits around, I used to use chunks of rabbit meat, and it worked real good!!!

Congrats on a fine outing!
I tell one person about my top secret chicken bait and feathers start flying everywhere. We caught 300 lbs of blues on fireants this afternoon. If anyone needs some they can stop by my house and get all they want out of the yard. Be as gready as you want to and take as many as you can get.
