I just replaced my fuel tank on an old 1980 astroglass...it was a tight fit, but it came out....i replaced it with a 12 gal. plastic one.....the old one had "ears" on each end that held it up in the bilge area...i just built a platform and strapped it down so that it would not move....

Normally the fuel tank will have to be rotated as your coming out.
