Plan to be on the water sinrise monday for bull reds, smacks, specs, whiting, & of course kings if they r still w/in 5 or 10 mi of jetties. Would consider Freeport but think I have a better chance in port arans for kings and smacks. Any reports at either place will help! 1st coatal trip since last aug or sept. Didn't think I'd make this one.

Don't know about freeport, but we have been slaughtering the Smacks at Galveston south jetty(the gulf side).

Fished Port Aransas last weekend and did well on the kings and BIG Smacks out by the tripod/jackup drilling rigs you can see NE of the jetties. Drifting ribbon fish. We were getting bit by the smacks behind the last hook. Missed alot. We added another hook on the ribbon fish rig that covers the tail and our catching increased alot!!! Never seen such big smacks! We also caught some reds at the jetties. One 40 incher and a 30 inches and a littl one. Had a freight train smash my live mullet on the channel side and decided he wanted to head out to the gulf. 25# line sounded like a .22 when it broke. Mullet are easy to catch at first light in the surf by the jetties. Good luck!!! Craig

Thanks for the reports. That's motivating. Unfortunately I'm rebolting the running boards on the trailer & am a day behind. Liquid nial and some wood chips will do the trick for now.
