Spent a couple days at Surfside...didn't take my rod but did watch some action on Saturday evening and Sunday morning...watched a 2 1/2 foot shark being caught in front of Pirates Alley and a 4 + footer being caught about halfway to SLP...Sunday visited with a gentleman at SLP and looked at his Bull Red (35 #'s +)...water looked great both days....does anyone know how to get to the bank across the channel from the Surfside Jetty (SW on Freeport Side) ???

Are you referring to Quintana Beach? If so, here are directions:

From Houston: HWY. 288 south to Freeport, until it dead ends. Turn right on F.M. 1495 and cross bridge. Turn left on C.R. 723 (3 miles). Turn right at dead end! PARK ENTRANCE

Go across the Surfside bridge. Drive all the way to the Bucee's and make a left. Go past the chemical plants and veer left at the intersection. Drive all the way through Freeport until you get to the Quintana bridge and drive across. Make the first left and drive to the end of the road and make a right. There will be Quintana Beach County Park in front of you. The jetty is off again to the left, just follow the road around.
