In light of the recent events near the border, I have decided to make my big fall trip to Fork instead of Amistad...We haven't been there in years and years. Would any of you regulars offer up some kind words for a couple of west tx boys headed east? where to stay and what to do? Thx in advance!!

Stop by and see Cameron at Lake Fork Marina, I bet he can help you guys out. The guys at Lake Fork Tackle are good guys as well, and I wouldnt hesitate stopping by there and asking them what's been on going on around the lake.
Plus, I hear Cameron is running a special on snicker bars this month.

Stay at Lake Fork Marina - 903-765-2764. The best motel on Lake Fork and one of the best restaurants is there also. I can't remember the new name used to be Moser's. Your also centrally located on the Fork side of the lake easy to go north or south. If trailering not far from 515 which takes you to Caney or Glade side of the lake.
FISHING NOW NOT WORKING ANYMORE

Be careful. The lake is down and there is a bit more timber than out west.
I moved here from Amarillo and used to fish Meredith, Ute and Conchas and the timber here still makes me nervous!

we're not so west txan that we dont savvy grass...no problem...weve also heard of a fall rat bite...anyone? You better have one tied on. Also throw a shallow diving crank (White) around grass and creeks. Then slow down and hit the stumps and edges of grass with a trick worm, or a 7" worm. Hope this helps, and good luck! Ill be there this Saturday. If you send me a PM I can give you a more detailed report after my trip.

Drop shot on the grass line worked for us off of little caney. Boated our limit by 8:30 using watermelon. Hooked a 4lb on a jig and pig over at Mustang. Good Luck

Ask Cameron where to fish what bait to use and how to rig a grandebass rattlesnake. The tall skinny guy at Lake Fork Marina has some great tips like what kind of candy bars to buy!
