Hey guys, looking for a little input here:

Been fishing a few local ponds/lakes. Have only had success with a wacky rigged senko (watermelon color). Not complaining about catching fish, but I can't get any bites on the other stuff I have tried: tx-rigged worm, scum frog or pop-r early in the AM, a few swim baits, etc. Also, I can only get the small fish <1lb to bite with this setup, but they go nuts for it.

If the wacky senko is working, do you guys have any suggestions as to what else may work too? I'm guessing there is something about the action of this rig that they like. Someone suggested a jig, but any thoughts on what to rig it with?

Someone else I was talking to at one of these lakes had some luck with a frog, but I didn't. Any tips on when & where to fish a frog (or other topwater type baits).

Thanks!

For a pond...H&H Spinnerbait or a Rooster Tail ought to get you bit.

You might try drop shot or shaky head.

try that popper in the morning or evening, but try it differently. I do well on popping baits but only when I make them pretty erratic.

and get the ones with the smaller mouths, like the h20's or yellow magic because they "walk" also a little bit if you work them right.

cheers

this set up is lethal!!!!!!!!! anytime, anywhere. ultimate dummy bait too. cast it out and reel it in keeping contact with the bottom, if you dont feel like hopping it.

Trick worm on a split shot rig or a shakey head - Or a Drop shot with a larger worm.

I would also try a small profile swim jig.

+1 ,Ban-d said. If you are fishing a area of ponds that always produce small fish, that is a good indicatation that that small fish are predominate. The best thing you can do, keep and eat!

I would love a pond nearby to go to and catch a bunch of little bass for fun. If anyone from lubbock area has a suggestion, it would be welcome.
