+1 I would do a cat trip especially in the winter when the big blues are biteing jump over to the catfishing section and take a look at our Oct fishoff thread

I have recently taken my 5 year old nephew on a fishing trip and it was a slow day and he didnt seem to have much fun... the next time i ofered him a trip he was a little weary about goin. I finally got him convinced and i decided to take him on a catching trip. We took a small bass buster type boat on a small goverment flood control lake and caught over 100 bass in about 2 hours. Now all he wants to do is fish. I advise starting them out on something like that first!

He will totally enjoy it. If he goes out fishing all day and doesn't catch many or any, he will not want to go with you again.

If you're within driving distance of Richland Chambers (between Corsicana & Palestine) you might consider us as an option. Check out our "Package Special" of a fishing trip for two, overnite in a Cabin at the Marina and Lunch for $299. All details and pics on our website at www.gonefishin.biz

I would take them somewhere they can catch a lot of fish. Sandbass or crappie fishing would be what I would do. Sounds like he's a patient fisherman though so maybe he wouldn't mind bass fishing.
