got down there saturday around 7:30 am. fished until about 11. We had no luck. Was fishing with live shrimp on the bottom. Got a lot of hang ups on the bottom. While we were there, did see a few decent size reds landed and one flounder. Hoping next time down there I do better. Still had a good time though, weather was beautiful!

Try cut mullet next time or put the shrimp under a cork if the tide is not running too fast. I think we're going down in a week or three, knowing it might be the last time I can fish it before they fill it in.
Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

Hi Justin83:
The bay side is better on a incoming tide and the gulf side is better on a outgoing tide. Good Luck I hope you load up on the Flatfish and bring back some pictures to post!

Had a very good and fun fishing on the 10-05-10 and 10-06-10 at RP. I got me some live shrimp for the night fishing action and was it well worth it too!!! I started setting up my generator and my single 1000 watt light bulb and set up my popping cork and with a live shrimp on the hook and turned on the lights and within the 2 or 3rd cast the floater went down and sure enough from there on the specs were hitting almost every cast. Good sizes and good kepers. After the live shrimp ran out I started using a spec rig that I have never used before. This spec rig was not only catching them specs but also Red Drum really good too. If you will notice and look very closely on of the pics that I caught 2 red drums at the same time on that tandem spec rig. That has never ever happned to me in my life. Overall a great night. The next day I focused on catching flounder. I went to the bay side and waded and for the whol day that I fished there I caught one nice foulder that was 17 inches, now that was a great catch too, that sucker pulled like a red fish too. The other flunder I caught the day before on the bay side . I caught a red fish that was well over 25 inches and released him back into the water. Now, on another level that I would like to share with you all is about our beautiful little poodle that my wife love so dearly. I know that this is not the proper site for this but I felt like I wanted to tell everyone that I have never felt so much care and love for a little dog like this one. Her name is Sadie and she doesn't look like she is going to live much longer to live. She has acute pancreatis and probable cancer. She is just hanging right now and I am giving her IV treatments and my wife is giving her antibiotics. We love our Sadie and it sure does hurt to she such a precious little thing falling away from great love and laughter that she has given to us in our home. Here's her picture as well. We love you Sadie!!!

42 Inch Bull Red my dad brought in a bull red Friday night on the east side of the pass, had two leaders break (thanks fishing tackle unlimited) started making our own now, big bites right as sun started going down and the tide began going out, my buddy also caught a slot red. Bull was on cut whiting chunks and slot was on live finger mullet.

I went today from 8-1:30 I caught a lot of throwback fish today. Kept 1 slot red at 21 inches, 1 spec 20in and a big golden croaker. Caught a 4 or 5 small male flounders around 13 inches. Everything caught on live shrimp... couldnt get a bite of finger mullet today. I cant wait for a good cold front to get the flounder moving.

Hey thanks Old Frog,
Today is one of mine and my wife's sadest days of our whole lives. Her organs have shut down and we had to put her down. She will be missed so very much. She was so beautiful in every way.

Sorry to hear about Sadie. Will pray for you all. I just had to have my Mastiff put to sleep in June so I know the sadness y'all are feeling.
Glad you had good luck fishing.
