 How to remove scum from boat????

I have a white boat. I left it in the water for a couple weeks last summer and now I am having a hard time getting the yellow/brown water line off of the side. What is the cheapest way to remove the scum w/out hurting the gel coat? Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Bleach is very good. I have a white hull also and it works on that
To pass more on to my two kids than was passed onto me.

Once you have it clean maintain it by using Turtle Wax Blue Ice, it does not take much and only takes 5-minutes. For the tough little spots I use Mr Clean Majic Eraser.
