I was fishing at sommerville a couple of weeks ago and while reeling in a nice catfish some kind of water snake at least 4 foot long latched on to the cat's head. That sucker wouldn't let go...I got them both up to the bank and had to beat that snake with my rod tip to get him to finally let loose of MY dinner. The cat was at least a couple of pounds, I couldn't believe it, but it looked like that snake had full intentions of trying to swallow it. I've also caught snakes(by the mouth), a beer can, three bass (over 20 inches) in the same day fishing with cut shad (gibbon's), caught a nice clam the other day too.

I was bream fishing on my neighbors dock when I was a kid. It was around sunset and I was catching tons of little fish. I'd usually just ski them up real quick and toss them back. On one little guy, I got the line wrapped around the tip of my rod. I'd just started to yank him out and had to stop to fix my rod. Just as I had it clear my rod BOWED. I mean really took a dive. I wondered what was going on because I'd seen the little bream already. It was a REALLY big bass. Never got it in to weight it because I didn't hook it. He'd swallowed the bream but when he really pulled it ripped that tiny hook out. I always wonder how big that bass was. After that I spent a month fishing with baits that were brim colored around that dock at sunset and never did catch a bass.
The only true intercontinental champion.

I was drifting on lavon a few years back and caught a wallet. It had several credit cards and a driver's license that expired in 1975. About 2 trips later I caught a pair of underwear size 44 Don't dip a mad Armadillo in a dipnet and then bring him in the boat. He tore up the dipnet and stole my tiny torpedo when he finally got loose

5 years ago we were catfishin' by the dam at lake proctor ... my son was reelin' in & snagged a big shad on the way in ... a pelican saw the shad skippin' across the top of the water & took off after it ... my son saw it & started reelin, faster & yellin' "no no leave it alone" ... the pelican caught up to the shad & got the hook in the end of the beak ... the fight was on ... after bout 10 minutes he landed the pelican ... kinda felt sorry for the bird, the fight wore'im out so bad he puked up bout a gallon of shad right there on the bank ... as luck would have it, bout a hour later my son snagged onother pelican in the wing ... he landed that'un too
them pelicans don't tast too bad ... roasted slow over an open fire
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish
