I caught an eyeball couple of weeks ago. Was slabbing for sandie/hybrids, had a decent on one and when I went to swing him over the railing, he got off. My wife shreiked and pointed at the slab. Hanging from one of the hooks on the treble was his eyeball.

No joke, on one trip that my dad did not take me (I was 5) his buddy pulled out a dead body off the Rio Grande in Laredo TX Right under the international bridge. He was fishing with an off shore rod with 100+ test line. He had to se a psycaitrist for a few weeks after that.

While in college, a buddy and I hit the spillway below Somerville for some sandies and hybrids. Chunking rat-l-traps upstream and letting them fall across the rocks with the current, I got a bump, set the hook and reeled in about a 5" crawdad! Had a heck of a time convincing him to let go.

How about those guys that just caught two Atlantic (Sharpnose)sharks out of a fresh water lake somwhere around San Antonio. I don't know the details but it has been on the news this week.

Fishing a private lake in Irving with my father, (Lake Vilbig - Gravel Pits) - dad caught a Pacu. Had to have come out of someone's aquarium since they are native to South America (and full of dentures!)

Worst catch was when I was 8 yrs old (Lake Whitney) - the sandies started schooling at the back of the boat - so I swung around and slung my Torpedo - but my lure was attached to my dad's cigar that I had just plucked from his mouth! Dad had an odd expression on his face but the words that followed are still very vivid in my mind.

I caught a Black Mexican bat. It ran into my line and I thought I had a bite and I reeled in to find a bat half way between my bait and rod.

He was REAL MAD. we let him go he cralled away and then flew off about five minutes later.

I used to clip the pectoral fins off of the cats I caught at Calaveras. One night I had about 9 cats in the wire basket hanging overboard, and when I was putting number 10 in there, I notice there were none left (actually 9 left). The bottom spring had broken and they all left. A month later, fishing a different part of the lake, I catch a cat with the pectoral fins clipped. Now I don't know for sure that was one of the same cats, but I feel it was. Not a smart fellow. He was caught both times on punchbait.

I've never caught anything strange, but I've taken the bait hook,line and sinker before.

madina lake, one was caught on a trotline, and the second one was caught on a rod and reel. they were both caught within 100 yards of each other.

I caught a 14" gizzard shad at the granger lake spillway last night. The kicker is what I was fishing with.... cut gizzard shad!!

Long list of weird catches like the cliff swallow ,while fishing under a bridge ,, reeled him in and unwrapped the line around it's leg and it still had ahold of my panther martin spinner in it's grasp [the foot grabbed my lure in flight] ... caught an AMERICAN EEL also and the strangest catch was on LAKE LEWISVILLE while throwing a spinner bait ,,caught a[white / black] BASS it was a green fish with stripes of a white bass , the back was taller and the mouth was alot smaller ,about a 3 1/2 lb fish ,,If I had only seen the stripes before I started to fillet it ,,the taxidermy would have been done by tex pks & wildlife to display the hybrid fish at the Lewisville Lake headquarters on Mill st

Went catfishin at Calaveras lake one night and the wife is reeling in her line, she says it feels heavy I think I have a fish or something..Well she did have something but it was no fish: it was a rock which wieghed about 1/2 lb. How she caught a rock is beyond me but she did.
