Great bait but gar love them too. live perch are good as well for flats....easier to get too.

Have had good luck with live goldfish. If you hook'em and get the some blood exposed it has seemed to made a difference in the amount of strikes. I usually use large slab minnows,perch and goldfish for blues and flats. True about the
gar(bage)liking them as well. Goldfish seem to outlast the the opther bait I use. Good luck!

yep,
catfish like goldfish the way I like taco's. Would only use them for a jug line, trot line, and use a good dip bait for rod and reel fishing. Since I started using dip, I have caught many, many, many more catfish.

I have always had good success with Goldfish when going for cats, Gar do come into play, but they are worth the fight if you hook into a good one.

I fish with a guy who last week caught a 10lb blue on a goldfish below a damn. I didn't know a blue would take it but I guess they do.
