I went out early Saturday morning. It was a slow day of 12"-14" largemouth bass. Also got one that was 17.5". Water temp was 75-81 degrees and all bass were caught from boat docks on the main lake and brush up the river. Baits were tequila sunrise powerworms and white jerkbaits. The skiers didn't start showing up until about lunchtime. If the bass were biting better it would have been a great day. The ones I saw... I caught.

Those images are amazing. I know you still have to catch them but man does that help.

Nice report from McQueeney, good job. During the late spring, and summer time it is one hard lake to fish due to the skiers. From late fall to early spring is the best time to fish McQueeney. This is one lake that the more you fish it the more you learn it's features and the patterns of the fish.

There is one public launch you can use. It is not that good but that is all that is there. It is very hard to find and is off of FM 725. The people living on the lake have just about taken it over and made it their own private lake. I think it is a shame but what can you do. McQueeney has always and will be a public lake. I would like to see a nice public ramp just like the ones at Placid and Dunlap. Don't know if that will ever happen, just wishing it would.

It's somewhat of a disgrace that so much money can be spent and seeminly wasted around the state on projects that are over budgeted, and we can't even get a public ramp built and maintained, that is a dire need on that lake.

Just one more cast!

The state could at least rebuild the crappy, broken up ramp off of 725. If you don't have a 4x4 I wouldn't even attempt to launch a boat there. Better than nothing I guess.

we should all meet there with a few cold ones and a few bags of quickcrete. i got two in the back of the truck now. i was told it was an old neighborhood assn ramp and also a GBRA eavsment.

by far the best lake in the chain (my opinion)

Went there today and launched the canoe there, at least its good for that. Too bad it is so far down to the main part of the lake, I'd really like to get down there sometime. Did pretty good, nothing real big, but I like to panfish to kill time. I'll post a seperate report.

I've thought about that. I just wonder how to keep the water back while we fixed the ramp.

if you have a real heavy boat you may need 4X4, but I worry more about messing up my trailer there....it is really rough. stay as far left as you can cuz the right side is pretty much gone.

I've put a 19' Blue Wave in there twice with no problems. But I wouldn't have gotten my boat out without 4-lo. I've seen that dropoff... scary.

I wont even try putting mine in there. It's not worth the risk. I'd love to see a nice public ramp there, but I'm sure the home owners fight it tooth and nail.
