Caught some monster perch this weekend on mealworms in 12 foot of water. Need some suggestions for flies to fish that deep.

The flies are the easy part, some sort of woolly worm or San Juan worm. Probably anything small and slender. But getting them twelve feet deep may be the bigger question to answer. How will you be casting/presenting?

option 1
use a sink tip

option 2 (if using floating line)
use a 15 foot leader with a weighted fly or add split shot. or both

calling the genus Lepomis "perch" seems to have originated in the Ozarks and has spread its way to Texas along with the folks who came down here to settle Texas.

People also call Micropterus "bass"

I know they are not the same. We called them all perch where I grew up. I will work on species ID for future posts.
