I started looking around, trying to find the best place to get lake maps and it got me thinking. Do people still carry and use paper maps of the waters they are fishing, or do most of you just rely on Navionics and things like that?

I don’t have any fancy electronics, but could put the navionics lake maps South on my Iphone cheaper than I could buy one map.

What's the general consensus from the TFF pro's out here? Does anyone have any experience with the navionics apps? If so what are some pros and cons?

As always, thanks for the info. I rely on this forum and its seasoned fishermen to keep me on track and pointed in the right direction.

I have the navionics on my iphone. It is pretty good for planning a trip and where I want to start fishing rather than spending time out in the garage in the boat.

I have heard of people purchasing ram mounts and using their iphone as their gps.

It is quick to update you can track your path and it has really good detail for $9.99. Definitely worth the money.

Paper maps do not show the details that an electronic map does. Some of the older AID maps made you wonder where they got the info from they were so far off.

Bass Pro has a good selection of lake maps. I've bout a few. I like digital maps and all, but there's nothing like laying out a paper map and studying.
