I know I should know the answer to this, but I don't.

My battery needs some water. Does it have to be distilled water or can you use water from the tap?

MfGs suggest distilled h20 and they also say that you should add water and not acid.

You SHOULD use distilled...but I dont fool with it, I use tap water and still get 3-5 years out of my batteries. Maybe I've been lucky. If they last 3, I'm happy. That's $20 a year per battery....pretty cheap.

I bought a couple of gallons of distilled water last year so it last along while.
