I'm rebuilding trim ram end caps on '78 johnson 115 hp tnt cross flow 3-wire tilt & trim. Any suggestions on tightening the end caps once the outer o-ring and back-up ring are inplace. Can't tell if there is a trick to getting this sealed correctly.

They have an "O"ring seal at the top above the threads. Apply light coat of grease their. You remove and tighten the cap with a tool made for this.
