Goes up and down just fine. will not stay up slowly falls down. what could it be. thanks

manual release valve shouldn't be causing that unless someone unscrewed it and didn't retighten it all the way in or it has bad rubber seat.
Reciently bought used tilt and trim that had been worked on and motor dropped 2" in 4hr test. I retightened manual release valve and it didn't drop any in 24 hrs. Just be careful- if the manual release is frozen don't mess w/it or it may break off or strip aluminum & u will need a new tilt and trim unit.
