OK,OK,OK. Here it goes. I made a request earlier to end this discussion. I thought it was going in the wromg direction. I still think it is because now some of you want to kill or hurt somone that is messing with your fish or lines. IS IT WORTH IT? I don't think so. Just get all the info you can on the a..hole that is doing it and turn them in. To deal with it yourself could mean your own life. Do you have a wife and kids...not any more. SO WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM NOW?
Kids and young adults today are the way they are because there is no discipline at home. People are afraid to punish their kids because they are afraid of the law. If I had done anything that has been mentioned here, my dad would have done more than whip my butt, he would have kicked it into the next county.
I have read where those of you have shot and even killed others. You do what you have to do in the situation at hand. I too have shot another but it was in the line of duty. To say it doesn't bother you , IS A LIE. It happened 19 years ago but I still think about it.
My final thoughts, however you may feel about them.
What's mine is mine. I will protect it. But I will not hurt someone for taking my fish. If I catch them, they will be taken care of by the law. I will still have my family and I will fish another day. THEY WON'T.

If you are 17 years old you are old enough to know right and wrong but also old enough to know that if you get caught doing something wrong you'll get off, unless it's real serious and you can get tried as an adult. At 17 you have the body of an adult and can therefore take a$$ whippings. Until they treat theft like they used to or like they still do in other countries, it will continue. If it was known by any prospective thief that for stealing a car, boat, fish, or stick of gum they would lose their respective virginity to a cell-mate and be sold for a pack of cigarettes, they may think twice. Of course then they'd have to figure out a way to enforce the law.....Hmmmmmm.

I admit I get angry at the thought of someone running my juglines. In fact, the thought of blowing them away does cross my mind. However, I pray to God thatI would never do anything so foolish. Growing up, I was no angel and I did some rather stupid things that I now regret. However, I do not think I deserved to be shot or even had my ### kicked by an adult for doing so. However, if a ###kicking would have been involved, then I hope I would have just taken it like a man.

well it's gettin' to where there is little to no consequences dealt out now days ... by our justice system or by the parents either one ... we had a deputy sheriff out to the house a couple of weeks ago & he told me that it's gettin' to where they don't even pick up kids that are caught with drugs any more ... some of the parents need the butt whippin' right along with the kids ... on the other hand i know there are parents that do the best they can & the society we have degressed into kinda snatches their kids from them in spite of all they can do ... a good butt kickin' goes along way some times ... i know i did lotsa things back in the day that i deserved it no doubt about it ... if i was a teenage theif (or criminal) or any age for that matter, and i knew a good butt kicking was gonna be automatic when i got caught, it just be enuff for me to make a change in my life style

Maybe that 17 year old went with his parents fishing earlier in his life and they told him "Let's check somebody elses lines so I can show you what a fish looks like. I know its not our property but it doesn't matter. Just so as no one sees us."

OK, Albert, DW, and all others I have offended or upset, I respectfully bow out of this one. Apologies sent.

Bottom line is don't check or take fish off a jugline that's not yours.

This has been a remarkable post. Except for a few trollers coming in and trying to start trouble like they always do it has been very exceptional on the arguementative points. I love to fish for anything and I would never touch someone elses stuff. I think everybody needs to do just that. DW I figured you for an old man by the way you talk but do think long and hard before you shoot at someone else. Just try not to hurt anybody. If any of you catfisherman ever want to do some real fishing just let me know and I will take you bass fishing. Good luck to all. Bass Freak...Whut?...Whut?...

catfishing is WONDERFUL!!!! God Bless America and the channel, blue and flathead population! It is fun, we take pride in our fish, love to smell like stink bait and enjoy the all night fishing with no bites at all! It is about fun, SHARING tips, explaining how things are done, just loving the fishing experience. We dont have to hide things. It is great. Oh yeah, bass freaks? a catfisherman wouldnt buzz you if you were fishing woooohooooooooo GOD BLESS AMERICA AND FREE SPEACH

[/b]Albert, I said I was bowing out of this one but I felt I owe you a public apology. I had no right saying the things I did or calling anyone names. Maybe we're just different in our ways, but that's OK. We do have one thing in common, and that's fishing. Same thing goes to DW and all the others I spoke of or about. I'd like to learn a few things from you catfish guys sometime so I can try it on Ray Roberts. JT
