I heard Mr King is out to catch the lake record catfish on all of the North and NE Texas lakes with his bait and that he has a pending record on Cypress Springs but do not know how big or what kind of catfish. Anyone have any info about this and how many records he already has? RS

I am going to take a day off from fishing sat. and go meet this Danny King fella at the Amarillo Boat show this weekend. When you have a 10 day vac. you need to fish at least 9 of them

just watch out for the HUGE wad of tobaccer in his mouth and dont spill his dr pepper......heheheheh

he is very nice and funny and you can learn alot from him. if larry is there too, watch out, they will bicker at each other....

Maybe it's not tobacco; maybe that's how he makes his bait.

The record he has pending is a channel over ten pounds. I think it was 10.15 or something like that.

Danny talks about it in the radio program that sbursik has linked to in another thread (one that has Bill Dance on it). Danny also talks about how he sets up, where he fishes and such. He's not an overly technical fellow, but he knows how to catch fish. He might be bucking shad users, but tell that to the ACATS fishermen who have watched him win so many times using his bait.

My apologys to Danny, was responding to information I had read, didnt realize "record catfish" meant only Channels

But Hooker There is a big difference in a lake record and winning a tourney. Usually a tourney fish may be big but usually not a record.

I usually catch smaller cats on punch bait and bigger ones on shad!

If Mr. King goes out & sets the records for channels on all those lakes MORE POWER TO HIM

danny is a great guy and he will talk to and teach anyone how to fish for the kitties. he also knows how to be a friend. danny is a super guy and knows just about everything there is to know about catfishing. he and larry are amazing. if you wanna badmouth danny, talk to him first and ask him about it. he is a super guy and will explain evertyhing about catfishing. his bait works as do his rods. i prefer my favorite rods, but his are awesome.
