I'd take the Ferry, as long as you can go at a time when there's not much traffic.

Ditto. Get off the Ferry and keep driving until you see the pass. You'll cross it.

Twin,

The best spots to set up your lights is first of all,on the gulf side of the bridge, and on the west side of the channel where you see 5 palms trees. Thats the side you want to fish at on that side of the bridge. Then set up your lights at least 20 yards along the side of the wall from the bridge. You wil want to fish there on the outgoing tide only. Thats when you will most definitely get your share of fun of fishing. Once the tide changes to incoming tide, all bets are off. I have fished there plenty of time to recognize the pattern of catching your share. You might cath a few but it sure isn't the same like with the outgoing.

we just came back from R/O. Weather was funny all week. Fishing was good we caught specks under the light at night and reds in the surf during the day. If my health was better I would has stayed another week. Good Luck.

They say it will be next year, but who knows? Fish it while you can.

A friend of mine and I are planning a trip to Rollover in late October or November. I understand that the croaker run during that time of the year. Is this true and if so where is the best place around thee to catch them with out having a boat?

Also, what is this I have read about closing the pass next year?

Thanks,

Richard

Hey larry, hope you get to feeling better soon.

There's are a few bait shops that I goto if I am ever in need of live bait. Most of the tie I will either goto Stingarees where they ar usually very well stocked with all kinds of bait, or Joe's bait shop close to the Ferry. And there's this new one called Bluewave or Blue somethin that i will goto if needed. There is a new one by the pass called Nancy's bait but they dont have live shrimp but pretty much everything else.

I always will bring my casting net to get my own sshare of live bait AND have invested in two minnow traps at Academy and put some crushed crabs to catch me some live mud minnows that work like a charm. I have saved lots of money catching my own bait than buying it at the bait and takle stores.

hey Barkers,

I would say yes that it is worth going; however, if you will look at the forcast for the following weeek under "weather" in the yahoo front page and type in Gilchrist, Tx, there you will see that there is a very nice cool front is coming in not only this weekend but even cooler by next weekend. It looks like in the very low 80's in the following weekend. I will most definitely be there that following week. So good luck if you're going this weekend, weather should be cooler.
