Does anyone know of someone who can install a fish finder for me that's around the DFW area? What type of fish finders are good for kayaks? Thanks for any help this is my first kayak I've bought and I'm trying to get it rigged up and ready for some good fall fishing.

I'll do it, buy the FF, hardware, and some Marine Goop(1 tube is fine, I got more if you need it.

What type of FF do you recommend? Does anyone have a Diablo Adios? I haven't taken it out yet but looks amazing.

Think long and hard about where you wand it...then we can go from there. Think more "which way do i want to turn my head to look at it?" and " will it get in my way if its sticking up right here?", rather than where to drill the holes. Speaking of holes...I'd say its gonna take well-nuts, or rivets if we can swing-em, access looks mighty limited .

Wow. Congrats on the Diablo. Those things look sweet! Not sure about the FF install though. Looks a little different than most other SOTs. Does have hatches so there is below-deck space, just not sure how much.

Thanks man it does look sweet but I haven't been able to take it out on the water yet. I usually don't buy things till I've taken a test drive but the Diablo had everything I was looking for. Yes you are right it is set up a little different so that's the problem is trying to find out were I would want to place the fish finder. I have three hatches two right behind my seat and one in the front of the yak. Plenty of space below you can run wires from the hatch in the front to the ones behind my seat so the area below me is open for wiring.

Thanks! I finally got my seat in last night with my sit down paddle and stand up paddle so I loaded it up on the car and took it out to Lake Arlington for a quick test drive. I really enjoyed it. You have a lot of room to really move around which is nice and it's very stable just need to get used to it more. I think once I get more comfortable with it this yak will last me a very long time. Now I just need to find out where to install a fishfinder on this thing.
Farsouth I just sent you a pic of the bottom. Let me know what you think. I was going to purchase the Humminbird PiranahMax 190c Waterproof 3.5 Inch. Any thoughts on this fishfinder?

I would take that yak out a few times and do some fishing on it before I installed anything. It is a lot easier to find out what you want where than to find out what you don't want there if you catch my drift.

PiranahMax 190c... if its the dual beam, its the same as i have on my powerboat. works well for me. I mainly use it to see contour & depth. not a pro with it but it gets the job done. should work fine on the diablo. farsouth has given you some solid advise IMO :~)

Also purchase install kit- MHX-XMK, about $30, or I can make one from foam(will require boat to set untouched for two days cure time). For $30 you get a bit more solid mount for the ducer, either way its pretty solid. Depends on how you plan on transporting this thing, weather you want to do a custom removable flush mount...or the standard "screw that base to the hull" install. I've never worked on that brand of boat, can't wait to get my grubby little hands on-it! I like the pic you sent, very nifty bottom on that boat, bet it tracks like an arrow
