I've heard that by putting salt on chicken livers, it makes them tougher, and they'll stay on the hook better. Opinions???

heard of it... never tried... people also say let them soak with brown sugar over night...

Salt works, put a layer of livers, pour on some table salt, then another layer of livers, etc. Makes them tougher. I used to do that when I fished with livers, now I fish with fresh dead shad(or frozen), Catfish Killers Cheese bait, or Sureshot punch bait. Good luck

Laying liver out in the open and letting the sun dry them out will toughen them up also...

Lokey's idea seems most reasonable if you also added a layer of salt....In a pinch, or if the fish ain't biting, you could also carry a box of cracker and have some sun dried liver jerky on crackers for a snack! Mmmmm Mmmmm!!

Cause I tell you, SureShot cheese paste on crackers still tastes like ka,ka!
