I was wondering if fish could smell the scent of Permanent Marker ? I color over the silver, on the H2O tungsten wieghts. Do any of you guys or girls fish with just sliver?

I color my braid sometimes and it hasn't seemed to have an effect.

i use a marker a lot to color mono a few feet before the lure...a black marker masks blue mono very well...i like the blue line easier for me to watch it jigs, senkos, jerkbaits etc where line watching is pertinent.

My fishing buddy uses Magic Marker on his braid all the time .Gets just as many hits as I do using mono. Hope this helps.

I touch up a lot of baits and don't think it has cost me fish. I would say 40-60% of my CB's have some kind of marking from a sharpie. I got a 10 or 12 pack in my stocking one year and went crazy when I couln't get out.

Bass fishing is like a 30,000 acre golf course with no flags and five holes you can't see- Tim

In my opinion marker scents don't matter to the fish. I personally think the flash of the silver in clearer water attracts more bites though.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

I always just fish with silver weights...I have never used a color one and catch the majority of the fish I catch on a Texas rig with a silver tungsten.

Silver is much cheaper...

Be careful using a marker on braid. I've had a few people tell me it weakens the line.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Brent Meyers told me to use a sharpie when you need braid in clear water when we were at the elite series on Amistad a few years back...
