I have a 1197 hummingbird si unit and the side immaging has just stoped working. The only thing that shows up on the screan is static. It was working about two weeks ago which was the last time I used it any suggestions. I called hummingbird and they ran me through alot of possible problems but none of the solutions they proposed worked??????? Any advice would be apperciated.

Have you tried the SI feature with the outboard turned off ?You need to verify that your outboard is not giving you interference. Make certain all your ground connections are good. Next make certain all your cables and wiring are good with no cuts or breaks in the wire.If your ducer is good and your connections are good, Restore everything to the factory defaults through the menu. Power the unit down and back up after restoring the unit to factory defaults.If this doesn't work you may have to do a "hard" reset. I'm not sure how to do this but I think you hold the power and the menu button simultaneously for 2-3 seconds and then restart the unit. If none of this works you can always go to Yahoo sideimaging groups and post up there for info. You could do a Google search for Doug Vahrenburg and he might be able to help you. He is a very helpful and knowledgeable, and he is an incredible Bird guru. If all else fails you might have to send it in.
